BY 2020, India will have 87 crores people of working age – the world’s highest. Instead of reaping the economic benefits of this, the country is going to be in trouble. A report by Indiaspend says that less than 50% of India’s population is fully employed. Other reports point out that most of this unemployment is due to lack of skill development. IAMR states that the total number of people who need to be trained by 2022 is about 29 crores across differing skill requirement scenarios. This creates huge demand for skilled, obviously trained, professionals in every sector of the economy. In such situation large number of professionals are struggling to make themselves ‘Job Ready’ even if there exists opportunities for ‘Right skilled’ candidate.
